WELCOME TO MIX IT UP MONDAY WITH MAD DASH MIXES

WEEK 90

WHAT ARE WE MIXIN’ UP THIS WEEK?

Vintage Hamilton Beach Stand Mixer

Today I am sharing my favorite simple dip mixes for Summer entertaining! I recommend keeping several packs of dip mix on your pantry shelf.  Not only are they easy to mix up, they are incredibly tasty too!  You won’t believe how easy it is to mix-up a bowl of these various dips to share with your family and friends!

It is summerthyme and if you are like me, you don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen while everyone else is out having fun!  Keeping a selection of these dips on hand as well as sour cream, greek yogurt and mayonnaise will help you mix together some delicious dips very quickly!

A few of the dips will work as spreads for sandwiches.  The Zesty Crab dip can be turned into Kim’s Zesty Crab Roll in no thyme! I added that recipe to the mix below!

My Favorite Simple Summer Dip Recipes

Each of these dips is prepared from a mix from the folks at Mad Dash Mixes*.  I was introduced to the Mad Dash Mixes line at a conference in Atlanta, GA one summer.  I immediately fell in love with their product line.  Highlighting their mixes has been the perfect culinary addition to my blog with the weekly Mix It Up Monday With Mad Dash Mixes feature.

If you decide to try any of the mixes, I have arranged for my readers to receive a 15% discount on any order at www.MadDashMixes.com    Simply use the code word farmhouse as your discount code!  I think you will love what they have to offer! They have a variety of mixes ranging from appetizer to soups to desserts.   They even have some products that are geared towards people who are concerned about gluten.

Let’s Get to Mixin’

My personal favorite is the “Dill”icious Spinach Dip.  It is so creamy and delicious!  Let’s start there!

A Few Things to Consider

In addition to keeping a selection of the Mad Dash Mixes on hand, keeping a few packages of cream cheese, a jar of mayonnaise and some sour cream in your refrigerator will help you mix up this dip mixes quickly!

An assortment of chips, crackers and vegetables are also things to keep in your pantry or refrigerator.

Serving bowls, baskets and trays are useful too!

The mixes make great gifts for the holidays or anytime you need a hostess gift or bridal shower gift.  Add a selection of mixes, a kitchen towel and a few kitchen gadgets to a basket, wrap it in cellophane and add a bow and you are ready with a very useful gift!

Inquiring Minds Want to Know

Why do I use a picture of the vintage Hamilton Beach Mixer at the beginning of each Mix It Up Monday post?  Thank you for asking!  It originally belonged to my Mom.  I am not certain if it was a wedding gift, but I know she had it a long time.

It still works although I did have to it rewired as the cord had become damaged. The top comes off of the base to turn it into a hand mixer! There are two milk glass bowls and a juicer attachment.  It just fits with the theme, don’t you think?

COOKING WITH KIM

My entrepreneurial journey started with my love of herbs , both growing and cooking with them.  My love of herbs eventually led to owning a pizzeria. After relocating to Florida, I decided to start a blog where I could share my love of cooking, decorating and crafting. Throughout my culinary career, I have discovered the using mixes can make a cook’s life so much easier!  Using a mix to make a recipe is as simple as adding a few ingredients to the mix and then stirring, cooking or chilling and serving!   Mixes are such a time saver!  After meeting the folks from Mad Dash Mixes* at a blogging conference last summer, I decided to add a weekly blog post featuring recipes using their mixes.  Now I am now having a lot of fun working with Mad Dash Mixes. They did send me some products to sample but my opinions about the products are my own.  My full disclosure policy can be found on the Disclosure page. *If you would like to try some of their products, I have arranged for you to receive a 15% discount if you use the code farmhouse.  Orders can be placed at http://www.MadDashMixes.com

I don’t talk about my faith a lot. I do believe I don’t talk about my faith a lot. I do believe God puts certain people in your path for a reason. An example of this occurred on Tuesday. It was colonoscopy/sigmoidoscopy day. I was really nervous about how it would all work since it was my first time since I had my cancer surgery.

The nurse that was taking care of me in the pre op area turned out to be the same nurse who had prayed for me last year. My husband was in the parking lot of the medical center speaking with his friend who happened to work at the center with this particular nurse. I was very sick at the time and they prayed for my healing. It was great to be able to thank her in person and let her see that the prayers had been answered. ❤️

Then the anesthesiologist came in and told me about his cousin who had also been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer about a year ago. He mentioned some of the treatments his cousin had had and how important a positive attitude is. I was touched that he took the time to tell me about his cousin’s experience.

We had arranged in advance to have my husband’s friend as the nurse anesthesist. He was able to pray with us as well as reassure us about the procedure.

The procedure went well. The three polyps that the surgeon removed were sent to pathology. The report is already back and there no evidence of cancer. Prayers were answered again❤️
