Expanding Our Living Area with an Outdoor Addition – Part 4

August 6, 2021 by Kimberly Snyder Leave a Comment

Spread the love

Living in Southwest Florida does have its perks!  One is the ability to enjoy our backyard almost year round!

During the summer of 2020, my husband & I were in the planning stages of our outdoor addition.  The process we went through to pick the pool builder was outlined in this blog post:

One of the most enjoyable aspects of the planning process for the expanded lanai, outdoor kitchen and the pool was picking out the tile for the pool!  We spent about an hour one afternoon at the pool company looking at all the tile samples.  We were leaning towards tile in the blue family . We had to choose tile for the water line and the accent tiles on the steps leading into the pool.  We also had to choose tile for the pool deck.

Travertine Tile for The Pool Deck

I didn’t take a picture of the travertine tile for the pool deck while we were at the pool company last year.  This is a picture of how it looks one it was installed.  It has various shades of gray, cream and even touch of peach in it!

The area for the pool was prepped shortly before Christmas last year.  The pictures from that process were shared in this blog post:

and the digging of the hole for the pool was shared here:

Almost Ready for The Big Reveal!

I have been waiting for two cabinets for the outdoor kitchen area to arrive .  They finally got here last Friday!  I just need to do a few more finishing touches and then I can share the finished area with you!

Sneak Peak

I have shown snippets of the pool when I have highlighted my summer holiday tablescapes.  I can’t wait to show the whole area to you!
