Simple Steps To Making Delicious Shrimp Dip

Start by gathering your ingredients:

2 4 1/2 oz cans of shrimp

white bowl full of small shrimp

8 1/2  ounces of extra sharp cheddar cheese (grated) .  If you don’t care for cheddar cheese, substitute the grated cheese of your choice.

2 small onions (chopped)

bowl of chopped onions

1/2 cup mayonnaise

glass jar full of mayonnaise

1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce

small bowl with worcestershire sauce and a spoon

and garlic salt.

Drain the shrimp and add to a small bowl.  Using a fork, mash the shrimp.  Next, add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl.  Mix these ingredients together until they are fully combined and creamy.

Once everything is combined, taste the dip before chilling. Adjust flavors if necessary by adding more Worcestershire sauce for depth of flavor, a little garlic powder for a mild heat, onion powder for a punchier kick and lemon juice to bring out all of the other ingredients. It’s easy to adjust the seasoning to your own personal preference so have fun with it!

Cover and refrigerate the dip for at least 2 hours before serving.  Garnish the dip any desired spices or herbs such as parsley, dill or Old Bay seasoning.

Serve with your favorite chips, crackers or vegetables.  Enjoy!

My Mom always served her shrimp dip in this fish shaped dish.  It has a very retro feel to it and I love the pink and gray color scheme!
