Living in Southwest Florida does have its perks!  One is the ability to enjoy your backyard almost year round!

In Order to go from this:

Lanai at the Florida House March 2018

and this:

to get to this:

First they have to do all this:

Grading the back yard for the pool

Grading the ground for the pool

and of course, we have to save the concrete slabs!

Gracie is the General Contractor on the project and she is giving this stage its final approval.

We made the decision to add a pool and outdoor kitchen to our backyard in addition to expanding the existing lanai.  The planning process was outlined here:

One Saturday in mid-December, the crew showed up to grade the backyard.  Prior to that, we had removed some of the landscaping.  Dave has also removed several landscape pavers and shoveled rock out of the way.

We asked the guys to move two concrete slabs out of their way and save them so we could re-use them.

The next step is the dig.  Stay tuned for details about that!

If you want to see where the project started, you can find that information here :Expanding Our Living Area with an Outdoor Addition

The information about the dig can be found here: Expanding Our Living Area With an Outdoor Addition Part 3
