Shades of Cream & Green For Spring!

Looking for ideas on how to add Easter touches to Spring decor? The addition of a cute bunny will get you on your way!

St Patrick's Day Vignette displayed on buffet

The Spring holidays seem to come closer and closer together each year!  I have been staging seasonal vignettes on the top of the buffet.  Let me show you how to add Easter touches to Spring decor.  One way to make the transition easier is to chose a neutral color scheme such as cream and green color for Spring.  Then add additional holiday touches as the Spring progresses

I was out of town for two weeks in March and shortly after I returned home, we were having company for the day.  For some reason, Gracie (our dog) didn’t get around to taking the St Patrick’s day display down so I needed to address that before the company arrived!

Since I am the Princess of Kim-mando decorating, which you can read about here:

I grabbed my dust cloth, my totes and got to work!

The first thing I did was remove all of the St Patrick’s day decorations and pack them up until next year.  It was easy to remove the shamrocks from the set of three spindles since they weren’t glued in.  I decided to give the spindles a short rest as they have been used in the last three holidays!  Christmas,   Valentine’s Day

and St Patrick’s Day

A Bit of Retail Therapy

Large Rustic Candlestick with Matchless Candle

While I was in Illinois, I did participate in a wee bit of retail therapy!  I purchased this pair of heavy candlesticks and the matchless (battery operated) candles.  I feel in love with them but had to visit them in the store 3 times before I actually bought them.  The candles each require 2 D cell batteries.  The flames are so life like that Dave actually thought they were real candles and was starting to scold me for leaving them burning!

I originally purchased the candlesticks thinking I would use them on the dining table on the lanai, but for now I love them on the buffet.  The neutral color and the fact that they look worn makes them very versatile!  I love how the top where the candle sits looks like a flower!

Another new acquisition is the celadon green step stool.  I found it in one of my favorite stores in Central Illinois.  I fell in love with the color!  Celadon green is a perfect color for Spring, don’t you think?

The Sugar Mold

St Patrick's Day Sugar Mold Close up

I am having so much fun decorating this white sugar mold!  To transition from St Patrick’s Day to Easter/Spring, I simply added a small bunch of  Lilly of the Valley and moved the sugar mold into the center of the display!

I may have a bit of a sugar mold addiction!

What a simple way to transition through spring! I always like to see what people do with their sugar molds, I never seem to know what to do with mine.

I completely understand! There are many ways to decorate/use them, in the past I have gotten overwhelmed and couldn’t decide what to do and then ended up not using them. I am trying to use them more this year.

One super easy way is to fill them with faux potted plants!
