Looking for a Garden inspired way to decorate your sugar mold? Let me “plant” a seed of an idea for a unique display!
With Spring just a few weeks away, I decided to bring the garden inside by creating a garden inspired sugar mold display. A friend gave me these vintage seed packets a few years ago. I thought they would be perfect in my Spring display!

Garden Inspired Sugar Mold
Did you know that sugar used to be sold to consumers in cone shapes? This was before granulated sugar came on the market. Now they are used as fun, home decor pieces. I have several different sizes, but I really like this white one for Spring projects. This particular sugar mold is a reproduction piece.
Ready to “Plant” Our Seeds!
To make the soil, I used these moss balls and then cut them to fit in the holes of the sugar mold.
It is easy to cut the moss balls using a hack saw blade or knife. Be careful when using anything sharp!
I found the little chalkboard signs at the craft store. I tried writing on them with the chalk pen that came with them, but my writing is not the neatest, so I decided to leave them blank!
Vintage Seed Packs
A friend gave me a number of these vintage seed packages. They are quite old but most of them have retained the color in their labels. I picked an assortment of flowers to “plant” in my sugar mold.
The seed packets are leaning against the chalkboard markers.

Isn’t this garden inspired sugar mold adorable?
