Simple Winter Inspired Sugar Mold

Looking for a quick & easy winter decoration? This simple Winter inspired sugar mold is the perfect solution!

I actually made this simple Winter inspired sugar mold as a Christmas decoration.  One of my goals this year is to repurposing, reusing and refreshing things I already have.   As I was transitioning from Holiday to winter decor, I decided that this sugar mold could work as a decoration throughout the winter season.

Today, I am sharing how easy it was to design!

Let’s get started!

On this blog, I may sometimes use affiliate links, which means I earn a small commission if you purchase via the link. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.  By using my affiliate links to shop, it helps me to be able to continue bringing you fresh new ideas and projects!  Thank you!

How To Design a Winter Inspired Sugar Mold

But First -What is A Sugar Mold?

Before granulated sugar came on the market, it was sold to consumers in cone shapes.  A sugar mold was used to form the sugar into the cone shapes.

Now they are used as fun, home decor pieces. Sugar molds come in all different sizes.  I may have a slight sugar mold problem! I have two 6-hole ones (one white, one natural), a 3 hole one and one that just has one hole.  Pictured below is my 3 hole one that I decorated as a prototype for a wedding centerpiece for my best friend’s daughter.

All of my sugar molds are reproduction pieces.

In addition to a few silk flowers and a bit of greenery, all you need is some ribbon!  This burlap ribbon is decorated with red berries.  It is perfect to use throughout winter.

I simply cut strips of ribbon 12 inches long and used them to add a bit of flair to this white hydrangea 3 hole sugar mold. So simple!

One More Thing you might need!

A pair of bolt cutters is a handy tool to have.  I use mine when I need to cut the stems of my faux flowers shorter or I need to cut a silk flower bush apart!

Looking Ahead to Spring!

A Few More Ideas for Everyday

One of the smaller sugar molds can be used to hold your tv remote.  A sugar mold can be used in your office to hold pens, pencils, scissors, etc.  Makeup brushes could be stored in a sugar mold in your bathroom.  In the kitchen, you could use the sugar mold to hold silverware or utensils.
