Halloween Themed Dough Bowl

Spread the love

Create a whimsical Halloween themed dough bowl by combining a few key elements in your favorite oval dough bowl!

A visit to the Pumpkin Patch was a very important part of our Halloween traditions when we lived in Illinois.  So when I found this cute vintage style sign on line, I just had to purchase it and add it to my Halloween themed dough bowl!

On this blog, I may sometimes use affiliate links, which means I earn a small commission if you purchase via the link. The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.  By using my affiliate links to shop, it helps me to be able to continue bringing you fresh new ideas and projects!  Thank you!

I don’t really do a lot of decorating for Halloween but I always love decorating my different dough bowls. Adding a seasonal touch like this dough bowl design is a quick &  easy way to enhance my decor.

Designing a dough bowl is a perfect way to create a festive atmosphere at home during the Halloween season.  This dough bowl would look great on our dining table or even filled with candy in the entryway on Halloween night.

Here is how I put it together!

Halloween Themed Dough Bowl

Let’s Get Started

The first step was to decide where I wanted to put the finished dough bowl.  I decided to put it on the table in our entryway.  Someone had given me the Halloween themed tablecloth so I used it to cover the table.

Even though I have several dough bowls in my collection, I recently added a new one to my collection.  It is a little longer and not as deep as a few of my other ones.  Like the majority of my dough bowls, this one is a reproduction.

The oak framed mirror behind the dough bowl has quite a cute story.  You can read all about here if you like!  The Story Behind The Mirror

To add a little extra height to the display, I added a rustic wooden riser to the center of the dough bowl.

I added a pumpkin candle ring on each side of the wooden riser,  If you don’t have candle rings, a few faux pumpkins or gourds would work too!

Next, I added the vintage looking sign to the display.  I actually found this on Amazon!

The little pumpkin angel statute holding the Jack o Lantern looks so cute next to the sign.  The pumpkin the angel is sitting on matches the pumpkins on the sign!

I found this little Jack O Lantern hanging ornament in my box of Halloween decorations.  I propped it up on the side of the dough bowl.

A pair of battery operated pumpkin shaped tea lights finish off the display.

These battery operated pumpkin tea lights are just adorable.  They can be used in so many different ways during the Autumn season.

Happy Halloween!

Save This Pin for Later!

If you are looking for a dough bowl, I recommend getting one that is at least 20 to 22 inches long if it is rectangle or oval.  If it is round, I think is needs to be at least 10 inches across.  The majority of my dough bowls are reproductions but there are still some antique ones available.  A variety of reproduction ones are available on Amazon.  A word of caution: be sure to check the dimensions of the bowls before ordering.  I had a friend order one in a hurry and it turned out to be smaller than her hand!

I love your vintage inspired Halloween sign Kim! So cute, I am always on the hunt for any vintage signs like this one. I know what you mean about watching dimensions when ordering. Let’s just say I have made this same mistake a time or three, and my husband always shakes his head and asks do you not look at the measurements when you order? Well, guess not dear… when I see something I like, I get too excited! Hope you have a wonderful Halloween, and thank you so much for linking up to Whimsical Home Wednesday!
