A combination of snowflakes, gingerbread and greenery accented with glittery pinecones makes a beautiful Holiday Dough Bowl Centerpiece!
Dough bowls are one of my favorite things! I’d love to share how I designed this Holiday Dough Bowl Centerpiece!

Dough bowls are an amazingly versatile Farmhouse Style decorating staple. They are available in many sizes, shapes and colors. I love to decorate them for the different seasons. I decided to add a white one to my collection. You can see it used as a backdrop in the picture above.
What Are Dough Bowls?
Dough bowls originally were used when making bread. The bowl was a great place for the bread to rise, the wood helped retain the heat which in turn helped the dough rise. They are also sometimes referred to as trenchers. My white one is 19 inches long, 8 inches wide and 3 inches deep. I love the detail on the ends of the bowl.
Several of the dough bowls I have are reproductions but there are still many antique ones available. Antique ones can be quite pricey. I do have a hand carved round one that belonged to my Mom. It would be considered vintage as it is over 25 years old. It is signed by the gentleman who made it. More information about it and how I designed the arrangement pictured below can be found here: How To Make An Armature for A Round Dough Bowl

Designing the Dough Bowl
Pick out your dough bowl. Since one of my color schemes for this Holiday season is red & white, I am going to use the white bowl that is pictured as a backdrop in this photo.
I included shopping links to products either the same as what I used or similar. This holiday dough bowl can be put together using elements you already have. It isn’t necessary to purchase all new elements!
The next step is to gather the elements you will use. I will use one of the snowflake ornaments from this trio of ornaments.
a couple of glittery pinecones
You can also use regular pine cones that you have sprayed silver and then you can add glitter to the pine cones.
A few stems of Frosty Holiday faux greenery accented with tallow berries and pine cones would also be a great addition.
To make the white dough bowl arrangement, I layered some faux greenery in the bottom of the dough bowl and then added three small spindles and some pine cones. I tucked the gingerbread snowflake in and I was done!
