This week I traded my chalk paint for spray paint! Let me show you how easy it is to refresh furniture with spray paint!
Can you believe it is week 5 of the One Room Challenge (ORC) already! This week, I switched back to a type of paint that I have used a lot! Join me as I refresh furniture with spray paint!
Grab a glass of tea from the tray and relax while you read on!
Let’s Get Ready to Refresh Furniture with Spray Paint
The cart was actually an estate sale find while we still lived in Illinois. When I purchased it, it was a taupe color. It definitely needed refreshing! I used it in our dining room when we still lived in the farmhouse.
I want to use it in place of this table. I measured it and I think it will just fit there. It will offer a lot more storage possibilities than the current table does.
I grabbed my paint and got ready to refresh! I love the Rust-oleum brand of spray paint.
I normally do all my spray painting outside. It is best to do it on a day that there isn’t much wind.
To get the coverage I wanted, I needed two coats.
The cart looks so much better now, don’t you agree? I am excited to get it moved into the house!
Side by Side Comparison – Did I Successfully Refresh Furniture with Spray Paint?
Can you see why my friend, Rick always says “Spray paint is your friend!”? Spray paint can transform metal, plastic, ceramics and even silk flowers. We used a lot of spray paint in the flower shop! More about my days in the flower shop can be found here: Sprout, Grow, Bloom

What Else Did I Accomplish This Week?
In all honesty, I didn’t get much done this week toward the ORC! I spent a lot of thyme thinking about what I need to do and ordering a few more accessories to finish the room.
I also wrote a few posts about my Mom for Mother’s Day. After all, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my Mom ( and Dad of course!)

What Else Needs to Be Done Before the Challenge is Complete?
Thanks for asking! In addition to painting the remaining three pieces of furniture, I have a fireplace to “build” . This mantel is going to be the focal point of the whole room refresh! I am totally in love with this mantel! I have a pretty good idea on how I am going to make it stand up and affix it to the wall.
Isn’t she beautiful? A friend found her in Round Top, Tx. She was originally part of an older home in New Orleans.

with many steps in between and lots of thyme, energy and more than a few tears.
I also like to say I blog about flowers (as a former florist) to flour (a former pizzeria owner) and many related topics. I like to use “thyme” instead of time in sentences. My favorite things are herbs, rusty things, architectural salvage and old wooden carriers!

I love the color you chose for your table! It’s all coming along well!
I’m going to be doing 4 weeks worth of cramming soon – no progress here but I still think I can get it done!
