Easy Pumpkin Shaped Dinner Rolls
The first time I made these, I didn’t make the scores deep enough. They ended up looking a little more like sea urchins than pumpkins , but hey it is Florida! They still tasted great!
The next time I made them, they looked just like the ones in the picture at the top of the post!

Easy Pumpkin Shaped Dinner Rolls
Equipment
- 2 baking sheets
- basting brush
Ingredients
- 1 bag frozen dinner rolls (the type that needs to rise before baking)
- non-stick cooking spray
- 1 egg
- whole pecans
Instructions
- Spray baking sheets with non-stick cooking spray.
- Place rolls on pan & cover with plastic wrap. Check instructions on the bag to see how far apart to place rolls.
- Let rolls rise for two hours
- After the rolls have risen for 2 hours, remove plastic wrap. Using a sharp knife, slice seven to eight sections of the roll, leaving the center intact.
- press a hole in the center of the roll so that you can insert a "stem" at the end of the baking time. I used a straw. You can also use an ink pen that you have sanitized with alcohol to make the hole
- re-cover with plastic wrap and let rise an additional one to two hours
- Before baking, make sure the holes is still indented. If not, make a new hole.
- pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
- To make the egg wash, add 1 T milk or water to one beaten egg.
- Use a basting brush to apply the egg wash
- bake rolls for 15 - 20 minutes until golden brown
- while rolls are baking, cut whole pecans into 3 pieces
- once the rolls have finished baking, place on cooling rack and insert "stem"
- after the rolls have finished cooling, they are ready to enjoy!
