One thing leads to another in home updates….. I just needed an over the range microwave and ended up ordering all new appliances!

The kitchen in the Florida house is narrow. We don’t have a lot of kitchen space and our counter top microwave was taking up quite a bit of space. In mid-May, I went to the local appliance store to see about getting an over the range microwave.
While I was there, I decided that I might as well replace the range too. That way the appliances would match. Then I realized the refrigerator should probably be replaced as it was beginning to make strange noises and the ice machine wasn’t working quite right. The old refrigerator was white and with a new stainless steel range and over the range microwave, it wouldn’t match.
If I was going to replace 3 kitchen appliances, I might as well order a new dishwasher too! I don’t think I have ever had all new appliances. The range was in stock and was delivered in May. The other items had to be ordered and didn’t arrive until early July.

This is What Happens When You Don’t Measure Correctly
You end up with an empty space where your refrigerator should be! I had ordered a Samsung refrigerator with French Doors. They delivered it the Monday after the 4th of July. Imagine my dismay after they had moved our existing refrigerator out to the garage and brought the new one in only to discover that the new one was 1/4 inch too tall to fit in my space!
The salesman wanted me to just take the cabinets down! Well, the cabinets couldn’t really be removed without causing a lot of extra work. I ended up going to the appliance store and ordering a GE refrigerator that was in stock and could be delivered later the same week.
I really don’t know how I managed to measure the space incorrectly. I guess I don’t know how to read a tape measure!
The Correct Size Refrigerator
Our galley style kitchen looks a lot better with the new appliances! Once I finish reorganizing the counter area around the sink, I will take a few more pictures.
The new appliances are so much quieter than the old ones! Sometimes we aren’t sure the dishwasher is actually running; we have to double check it to be sure it is working! It is just so quiet!
I think I had a hand in the measuring process. All appliances are great!
Everything turned out very nice. It’s always great getting new stuff!
