A group of talented ladies have joined together to kick off the Holiday Decorating Season with a Deck the Halls Blog Hop! Won’t you join us?
Several of the ladies in Thistlewood VIP Mastermind group have joined together to form a Blog Hop and share some exciting Christmas projects over the next three days! My project is actually scheduled to part of the hop on Friday November 19. I didn’t want any of you to miss out on any of the posts so I will list the link to the start of the hop today at the end of my post!
Gingerbread Houses
Isn’t this gingerbread house adorable? My Great Aunt, who is 103 3/4 years old decorated it! I think the back door is just precious! My Aunt Pauline is my grandfather’s youngest sister. She has always been very creative. She and a few of the other residents made gingerbread houses this summer during their Christmas in July festivities.
When I saw her gingerbread house, the creative wheels in my brain started turning. Then I found these placemats:
and remembered that I had used this Gingerbread Candy house as a display when I had Petals & Porch Posts!
I am still working on an actual title for my Holiday theme this year. I like to use alliteration in my themes so I am struggling to come up with something unique. Obviously, my theme revolves around gingerbread, snowflakes and a few other surprises! I am leaning towards using “Snowflake Wishes and Gingerbread Kisses” as the theme.
I am thinking this conservatory that my Dad made me out of old window frames might just be the perfect spot for my Gingerbread creations! What do you think?
Red, Rustic & Reclaimed
Last year, I had several different themes. My favorite was Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells.
The muse for the Jingle Bells theme was these spindles.
I have had these spindles for a long time. They were packed away in a box and I had completely forgotten about them. I am so glad I found them. I have used them in several different vignettes over the last year.
There they are in Red, Rustic & Reclaimed
I used them again for Valentine’s Day!
Based on how much I liked using them last Christmas & winter, I am pretty sure you will be seeing them later this week!
And now to get the hop started,
My mentor & friend, KariAnne Wood will kick off the hop today with her stamped spoon napkin holders! I need to order the stamping kit for myself so I can make some plant markers!
