Farmhouse Wood Floors Refreshed with Rejuvenate!

April 15, 2022 by Kimberly Snyder 14 Comments

Spread the love

Are you looking for a way to quickly restore shine to your hardwood floors without going to the expense of refinishing them?  I found a product that is easy to use and does a fantastic job!

If you are just beginning to follow the blog, my husband & I moved to the farmhouse I grew up in in 2001.

Farmhouse built in the late 1800s

For the Love of Old Houses

We built a modular home in the backyard for my parents and they lived out their lives in that home.

We decided to move to Florida full time and the details about the downsizing process can be read here:    and here:

as well as here:

It has been a very long process!

As part of the process, we finally ripped up some of the ugly shag carpet.  As I expected, we found hardwood floors!  All of the details can be found here: Hardwood Floors underneath the UGLY Carpet!

Below is a brief look at the cleaning process.

How to Clean Hardwood Floors

The Hardwood Floors Before:

The hardwood floor pictured below is the floor in the room we used as an office while we lived in the farmhouse .  The floor had been covered with carpet for years.

Once we got it pulled up, the floor was in pretty good shape.  The padding had stuck to the floor in some places so we had to scrape it off before I could clean the floor.

After we pulled up the carpet and I cleaned the floor with an oil based soap, this is how it looked.  Definitely an improvement, however, I thought it could look even better.

Let’s Rejuvenate!

After I started the blog,  I was introduced to a line of cleaning products called Rejuvenate.  The line includes products for many different cleaning needs.  I have tried only two of the products so far but I am really impressed with both products that I have used.

While I was back in Illinois to do some more cleaning and packing at the farmhouse, I found a Rejuvenate multi surface floor cleaner kit at the local hardware store.  It included the Click n Clean spray mop as well as the spray cleaner.

The spray mop was so easy to use .  The mop comes with a washable, reusable pad.  You can see in the picture above how much dirt I was able to get off of the hardwood floor.  After cleaning the floor, I  simply threw the pad in the washing machine, let it air dry and it was ready to use again!

The Reveal – What’s Behind the French Doors?

I believe these floors date back to the early 1940s when my paternal Grandfather purchased the farm.  My Mother kept them covered with carpet .

The Rejuvenate Click n Clean with the multi surface cleaner is what I used to clean the hardwood floors.  I have used the cabinet & furniture cleaner on several of my wood pieces.  Both products are easy to use and do a fantastic job!  I highly recommend them!

While I haven’t tried the All Floor Restorer, I believe it would be as effective as the other products I have tried in the line.

I don’t have hardwood floors any longer; my apartment has laminate flooring, I’ve been unhappy with the cleaners I’ve used on it until a few weeks ago when I discovered Rejuvenate! My floors now feel CLEAN for the first time. I am really, really impressed with Rejuvenate! Thanks for spreading the word…I wish I had found it when I moved into my apartment.

I don’t talk about my faith a lot. I do believe I don’t talk about my faith a lot. I do believe God puts certain people in your path for a reason. An example of this occurred on Tuesday. It was colonoscopy/sigmoidoscopy day. I was really nervous about how it would all work since it was my first time since I had my cancer surgery.

The nurse that was taking care of me in the pre op area turned out to be the same nurse who had prayed for me last year. My husband was in the parking lot of the medical center speaking with his friend who happened to work at the center with this particular nurse. I was very sick at the time and they prayed for my healing. It was great to be able to thank her in person and let her see that the prayers had been answered. ❤️

Then the anesthesiologist came in and told me about his cousin who had also been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer about a year ago. He mentioned some of the treatments his cousin had had and how important a positive attitude is. I was touched that he took the time to tell me about his cousin’s experience.

We had arranged in advance to have my husband’s friend as the nurse anesthesist. He was able to pray with us as well as reassure us about the procedure.

The procedure went well. The three polyps that the surgeon removed were sent to pathology. The report is already back and there no evidence of cancer. Prayers were answered again❤️
