Rustic Coastal Autumn Decor

September 19, 2024 by Kimberly Snyder Leave a Comment

Quick & Easy ways to update your Coastal decor for Autumn!  Simple touches to update your everyday decor!

Today is the last day of the Fall 2024 Home Tour!  I have had a lot of fun this week “hopping” with the ladies on the tour!  A super big Thank You to Marty of A Stroll Thru Life for organizing the tour!

The links to the homes on today’s tour as well as the earlier homes can be found at the bottom of this post!

No matter how you arrived here today, I am so glad you are here!  My name is Kimberly and I have a passion for flowers (a former florist) and flour (a former pizzeria owner) and many things in between!  Especially rusty and chippy items!

Quick & Easy Rustic Coastal Autumn Decor

Today I would like to share a few  Rustic Coastal Autumn decor vignettes.   These displays were very easy to update for Autumn.

By using shades of blue, green and cream combined with a few rustic accents as well as some seasonal silks, you can easily transition your home’s displays to the next season.

To update these vignettes for Fall, I used items I already had with the exception of a few faux pumpkins that my husband purchased for me at the grocery store!

Coastal Themed Sand Dollar display

By layering the mercury glass tray on top of the footed tray and then placing the rustic turquoise wooden box on top of the two trays, I added depth to my display.  I divided a herb bouquet into two bundles and added a few pieces of these pine and tallow berry pics.

The finished vignette reflects my love of worn wood, shells, barn tin and architectural salvage.  More about my fondness of those things can be found here:

The Dining Table

In complete transparency, this is an update I did when we still lived in Illinois.  I am including it because the techniques are the same regardless of where you live!

Pictured below is a how I had the dining room table set for Summer.  A few simple changes can take this dining room table from Summer into Autumn!  All you need to do is change the place settings and add a few botanicals and BAM you’re finished!

Coastal Colors for Spring in the dining room

Instead of the floral plates, I used these ironstone dishes with a gardening theme.

I re-used the blue pottery pitcher filled with artificial hydrangea and added a few white pumpkins and blue green gourds. So simple!

Save This For Later!

Autumn Accents in the Entryway

green garden carrier

The green carrier had been part of the display on the marble top chest of drawers for a number of months.  This carrier has been part of my collection for over twenty years.  It was purchased from a dear friend. I love the deep green color.  It has some blue paint peeking thru on the front.

In order to update the carrier for Autumn, I simply added a few more sprigs of greenery, the velvet pumpkins, the pumpkin pic and an orange burlap pumpkin.  A buffalo plaid pumpkin is perched on top of the architectural piece to draw attention.  The mirror belonged to my Mom.  You can read the story behind the mirror here:

Seasonal Touches for the Oval Dough Bowl

If you have been following me for a while, you already know that I love dough bowls!  Round, oval, rectangle – it doesn’t matter what shape they are, I love them all!

It was so easy to add a few Coastal Fall accents to this dough bowl.

The addition of three white pumpkins as well as the coastal colored leaves brought this everyday centerpiece into the next season! I am almost embarrassed to admit how simple it was to add a touch of Autumn to this centerpiece!

The glass balls covered with a crocheted cover resemble Japanese fishing floats.  They are actually meant to be weights to attach to a tablecloth outdoors in order to help hold it in place.  I found these adorable glass spheres at my Mom’s house when I was clearing it out.  They were tucked in with her supply of picnic items.  I almost put them in the donate pile until I actually looked at them and saw how they would fit in the coastal decor at the Florida house!

The shells were part of my Grandmother’s shell collection.  My grandparents used to spend the month of January in the Fort Myers, Florida area in the late 50s and early 60s and my grandmother would bring back shells.  After my grandmother passed away, my Mom ended up with the shell collection.

The Dining Room Side Table Vignette

The tray was a splurge purchase I made while we still lived in Illinois.  Sometimes I was the pizza delivery person when the delivery guys were unable to work.  I saved my tip money and used it to buy this tray at an interior design store.  The tray looks like it might be made out of antique barn tin and reclaimed wood. More about my life as a pizzeria entrepreneur can be found here: Sprout, Grow, Bloom

The pumpkin topiary in coastal shades as well as the single pumpkin on the tabletop add fall to this vignette.  The ceramic pitcher and blue canning jars belonged to my Mom.  Their color reminds me of the sea.

The three sand dollars were among the shells that were in my Grandmother’s collection.

I hope you enjoyed these quick and easy updates!  Hopefully, you gained at least one easy to implement idea to help get your home ready for the Fall season!
