Celadon Green

Inspiration

A pale blue green color, Celadon was originally named after a type of Chinese ceramic glaze that was developed in the 10th century.  The color is muted and understated with undertones of gray and jade.

It can be used in exterior accents on your house.

Or in a whimsical accent for a favorite chair

The color celadon looks great with peach or pale aqua

Glass Canoes

One of the many unique things my Mom collected was glass canoes.  She started collecting glass canoes after someone told her to respond ” I am looking for glass canoes” when asked what she was looking for when she went into an antique store.  I don’t remember how many she ended up with but it was probably at least 2 dozen.

When I unpacked her glass canoe collection, I was a bit perplexed when I found some 22 caliber bullets, a hank of rope and some gloves packed in the same cabinet.   I became even more concerned when I found a roll of plastic sheeting and various motorcycle parts in the corn crib.  Never found any sign of a body…..  🙂

Other Pottery Pieces

The petite pitcher is unmarked.  It is a lovely example of the celadon color.

Shutters

I love this small set of celadon green shutters.  I often use them as a backdrop for displays.

My Favorite Primitive Basket

Celedon green vintage basket

The celadon green basket was the inspiration for the color palette for the office.  The basket speaks to me with its wonderful, muted patina and the shape of the handle!  To see more of how I decorated my home office, please see this post! Coastal Shabby Chic Home Office

Even Gracie Mae Likes Celadon Green!

Gracie likes to rest on her quilt that is made from a calico fabric with peach and celadon tones.

Do you have a favorite color that speaks to you?

This season of the journey has been quieter - steady scans, nearing the end of treatment, a trip or two to see old friends. a blessing in its own way. I did end up needed fluids again ( dehydration sneaks up faster than you think) but I am holding steady and grateful for the softer days.
