A Simple Spring Centerpiece
Today, I’d love to show you how to make a simple hand tied bouquet of artificial tulips! You will find the steps on how to make a simple spring arrangement for your dough bowl below.
I normally keep an oval dough bowl on my gathering room coffee table that I love to decorate. I believe mine is a reproduction but there are still many antique ones available. Mine is 20 inches long which is a good size for a coffee table centerpiece.
Dough bowls got their name from their original function: making bread. The bowl was a great place for the bread to rise, the wood helped retain the heat which in turn helped the dough rise. They are also sometimes referred to as trenchers.
Since moving to Florida, I have often incorporated shells in the dough bowl centerpiece. This time, I wanted to have something really simple.
Let’s see what I came up with!
The Materials
I found a bouquet of these deep pink tulips. They are so realistic! Manufacturers have come a long way in making artificial flowers. I really like the simplicity of these tulips. You could use any spring flower with a long stem would work if you don’t like tulips. I think daffodils would be really pretty!
I had this Valentine ribbon left over from a different project. I simply turned it over and used it to tie the flowers together after I had arranged them the way I wanted them. No one will ever know you used Valentine ribbon!
I secured the stems with a simple knot!

Then I placed them in the bowl. I asked my husband if it was too simple….. he said it was beautiful!
