A Simple 4th of July Centerpiece Filled With Love

June 26, 2026 by Kimberly Snyder Leave a Comment

Spread the love

Create a simple 4th of July centerpiece using a heart‑shaped topiary, flags, and soft patriotic accents. Easy, meaningful patriotic décor for summer entertaining.

Summertime is here and it’s thyme to start planning our 4th of July celebration! This year I’m decorating with a “love” theme, and nothing says love quite like a heart. So, I created a simple 4th of July centerpiece built around a heart‑shaped angel vine topiary — and I’m sharing the full “recipe” below.

Simple 4th of July Centerpiece “Recipe”

Here’s my easy “recipe” for a festive 4th of July centerpiece you can put together in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 heart‑shaped angel vine topiary
  • 1 decorative ceramic pot
  • 1 acrylic tray with red, white & blue stripes
  • 2 gray‑toned candlesticks
  • 3–5 small American flags
  • 1 vintage‑style Uncle Sam hat (a pack of 5 from the Dollar Store works perfectly!)
  • A sprinkle of red, white & blue accents

Instructions

  1. Place the heart‑shaped topiary in your favorite decorative pot.
  2. Center it on a striped acrylic tray to create your base.
  3. Add the candlesticks on each side and top them with small flags.
  4. Tuck a tiny Uncle Sam hat into the vignette for a touch of whimsy.
  5. Layer your table with blue placemats, silver chargers, and red star‑shaped plates.
  6. Step back and enjoy your simple, love‑themed patriotic centerpiece!

Building the Centerpiece

The heart‑shaped angel vine topiary was exactly what I needed to bring my “love” theme into our 4th of July celebration. I placed it in a decorative ceramic pot and set it in the center of an acrylic tray with soft red, white, and blue stripes. It instantly became the focal point of the table — simple, sweet, and perfectly patriotic.

The “love” sign beside it looks like it’s made from barn wood, which always reminds me of the barn on my family farm. Little touches like that make holiday decorating feel personal and meaningful.

Now let me show you how it all came together on the table.

Red, White & Blue Accents

Of course, no 4th of July celebration is complete without flags and a few festive accents. I added two gray‑toned candlesticks and topped them with small American flags. The shorter candlestick holds a vintage‑inspired Uncle Sam hat — very similar to the little hats I used at each place setting. They came in a pack of five from the Dollar Store and add just the right touch of whimsy.

And in case you’re wondering what happened to the fifth hat… Mowgli decided he should wear it for the festivities. Naturally.

Each place setting starts with a blue placemat and a silver charger. On top, I layered a red star‑shaped paper plate and tucked one of the tiny Uncle Sam hats inside. The gray linen runner with navy stripes ties everything together and keeps the look soft and summery.

One More Look at the Table

This simple centerpiece and tablescape came together so quickly, and I love how the heart theme adds a gentle, meaningful touch to our 4th of July celebration. Sometimes the smallest details — a topiary, a few flags, a tiny hat — are all you need to create something festive and full of love.

I pulled together this simple patriotic vignette with vintage touches, soft blues, and a few gentle pops of red. It’s amazing how a little fabric, a postcard, and a favorite finial can turn into something sweet for summer.

If you love soft Americana style, this one’s for you. ❤️🤍💙
