Quick & Easy Way to Refresh a Loveseat

June 22, 2022 by Kimberly Snyder 4 Comments

Spread the love

Do you need a quick way to refresh a loveseat or couch? I have a solution! It is so quick, I am almost embarrassed to share it!

Are you searching for  a quick way to refresh a loveseat or sofa?  Sometimes, ready made slipcovers are too expensive or aren’t readily available.

Let me share my simple solution!  Look no further than your linen closet!

Before:

love seat hide a bed

One of the pieces of furniture that my Great Aunt left in the house was a love seat with a hide-a-bed.  It was upholstered in a tweedy fabric.  Well not exactly tweed but tweed-like, if you will.  We wanted to keep the loveseat since it had the hide-a-bed feature.  I really wasn’t keen on the fabric design and couldn’t find the kind of slipcover I wanted in the size I needed for the price I was willing to pay.

Not wanting to admit defeat, I decided to grab one of the plain white full size sheets that were also left behind.  and voila!  a “new” loveseat!

The love seat is currently in my office.  I added these pretty throw pillows to finish off my look!

I love the green basket on the end table next to the love seat.  The color and the patina of the basket is simply amazing!

Certain colors just speak to me!  Celadon green is one of them.  If you are interested, you can find out more about my love of celadon green here:

See why I was almost embarrassed to share this idea?  Using a sheet is a quick and inexpensive way to solve the problem of how to refresh your loveseat or sofa!

I have a few other no sew solutions!

A painter’s drop cloth can also be used as a makeshift slipcover!

Large pieces of twill fabric can be used to quickly update a piece of furniture.  I used a piece of khaki colored fabric to refresh a wing back chair.  The details can be found here: Quick Way to Refresh a Wing Back Chair
