Easy Pumpkin Shaped Dinner Rolls

Frozen yeast rolls can easily turned into pumpkin shaped rolls for your Holiday meal!

Equipment

  • 2 baking sheets
  • basting brush

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bag frozen dinner rolls (the type that needs to rise before baking)
  • non-stick cooking spray
  • 1 egg
  • whole pecans

Instructions
 

  • Spray baking sheets with non-stick cooking spray.

  • Place rolls on pan & cover with plastic wrap. Check instructions on the bag to see how far apart to place rolls.

  • Let rolls rise for two hours
  • After the rolls have risen for 2 hours, remove plastic wrap. Using a sharp knife, slice seven to eight sections of the roll, leaving the center intact.

  • press a hole in the center of the roll so that you can insert a "stem" at the end of the baking time. I used a straw. You can also use an ink pen that you have sanitized with alcohol to make the hole
  • re-cover with plastic wrap and let rise an additional one to two hours
  • Before baking, make sure the holes is still indented. If not, make a new hole.
  • pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
  • To make the egg wash, add 1 T milk or water to one beaten egg.

  • Use a basting brush to apply the egg wash

  • bake rolls for 15 - 20 minutes until golden brown
  • while rolls are baking, cut whole pecans into 3 pieces

  • once the rolls have finished baking, place on cooling rack and insert "stem"

  • after the rolls have finished cooling, they are ready to enjoy!
