Simple Silk Flower Storage Ideas

Looking for an idea on how to store your silk flowers? An over the door shoe bag is a quick, easy & inexpensive way to solve the problem!

If you are a crafter, you probably have a lot of bits & bobs to store including a lot of silk flower stems.  I know I do!  I also have limited space in our home.  I had to get creative when searching for a solution on how to store my silk flowers.

When I was a florist, I had a large workroom with plenty of storage.  When I first started working on the downsizing process, I thought all my designing days were behind me so I didn’t really keep many of the things I might need to store silk stems in.

Once I decided to start the blog and start designing/crafting again, I quickly realized that I needed a way to store my silk stems so I could readily access them.

While searching on Pinterest one afternoon, I noticed that someone found a creative way to use the back of a door as an out of the way storage solution! I thought it was brilliant!  They were using an over the door shoe bag to store their silk flowers.  I quickly ran out  to the local store and found just what I needed.  I brought it home and hung it on the back of my office door.

The price will be the same whether you use the affiliate link or go directly to the vendor’s website using a non-affiliate link.  By using my affiliate links to shop, it helps me to be able to continue bringing you fresh new ideas and projects!  Thank you!

It wasn’t long until I had it filled up!

I love how it hangs on the back of the office door so it can be out of sight when I am not working with the flowers.  Since I am more of a visual person, I like how I can see what I have at a glance.

For longer stems , I use a combination of metal containers, wooden carriers and sap buckets.

The buckets can be displayed inside an old box.

Isn’t this a pretty way to store your longer stems?

We recently had some renovations done to our home.  It was the perfect time to move the silk flowers out of the living room and into my office!

What a great idea. I always struggle with storing my flowers. I’d love to share this on my Sunday, Dirt Road Adventures if that’s OK.

Great idea! And the pockets would probably even work for the longer-stemmed pieces if you slit the bottom of the pocket and let the longer stems just protrude down behind the row of flowers below it. (Maybe reinforce the slit with duct tape to keep it from splitting.)

I don’t talk about my faith a lot. I do believe I don’t talk about my faith a lot. I do believe God puts certain people in your path for a reason. An example of this occurred on Tuesday. It was colonoscopy/sigmoidoscopy day. I was really nervous about how it would all work since it was my first time since I had my cancer surgery.

The nurse that was taking care of me in the pre op area turned out to be the same nurse who had prayed for me last year. My husband was in the parking lot of the medical center speaking with his friend who happened to work at the center with this particular nurse. I was very sick at the time and they prayed for my healing. It was great to be able to thank her in person and let her see that the prayers had been answered. ❤️

Then the anesthesiologist came in and told me about his cousin who had also been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer about a year ago. He mentioned some of the treatments his cousin had had and how important a positive attitude is. I was touched that he took the time to tell me about his cousin’s experience.

We had arranged in advance to have my husband’s friend as the nurse anesthesist. He was able to pray with us as well as reassure us about the procedure.

The procedure went well. The three polyps that the surgeon removed were sent to pathology. The report is already back and there no evidence of cancer. Prayers were answered again❤️
