Quick Makeover With Spray Paint
I found this metal “Love” sign in the clearance section at a nearby store. It was marked down to a really reasonable price, but it did have a little damage on it. Some of the letters were smudged or scratched.
Thyme to Start the Quick Makeover with Spray Paint-
Confident that the damage wasn’t anything a little spray paint and a bit of time couldn’t fix, I grabbed the painter’s tape and wrapped the sign so that only the letters were showing. I used metallic silver spray paint that I had on hand.
After the Painter’s Tape Was Removed-
After I removed all the painter’s tape, I wasn’t happy with how the letters looked. The scratches were gone but the letters lacked definition.
Touching up-
I used gold spray paint on a piece of paper towel to add some additional aging to the background.
I used a thin black market to carefully outline the letters. This added some depth to the letters.
The Completed Project – Quick Makeover with Spray Paint!
Since the sign is made out of metal, it could work outside as well as inside. I added it to this Spring display on the buffet for now but will probably hang it outside in the lanai once we get the lanai all finished.
I love how the metallic sheen of the Love sign works with the metal words and accent pieces of the Fresh Cut flower sign. It also helps pull out the gray in the candlesticks. I can see a lot of ways to use this sign in my home.

Love the makeover on love Kim! You are right, love shouldn’t be just for Valentine’s Day, but I think sometimes we forget that. Thank you for sharing with Whimsy Home Wednesday.
