What is A Sugar Mold?
You may be wondering what a sugar mold is. Sugar used to be sold to consumers in cone shapes. This was before granulated sugar came on the market. A sugar mold was used to form the sugar into the cone shapes.
Now they are used as fun, home decor pieces. Sugar molds come in all different sizes. I may have a slight sugar mold problem! I have two 6-hole ones (one white, one natural), a 3 hole one and one that just has one hole.
All of my sugar molds are reproduction pieces. While the sugar mold will stand on its own, a wrought iron stand can be a useful accent to the piece. It gives the sugar mold a little more height and adds stability in case the final creation is top heavy.
Festive Holiday Sugar Mold Decorating Ideas
In the photo below, the white 6 hole sugar mold is decorated with clusters of red berries, vintage ornaments, greenery and burlap ribbon. This arrangement was easy to put together.
Another option for the white sugar mold is to simply add red glass ornaments.

Using a sugar mold is a great way to display your extra ornaments! I did a similar thing here, combining the ornaments with a collection of bottle brush trees. I used a bundle of chenille candy canes as an accent in this single hole sugar mold. A bundle of cinnamon sticks would look cute in it as well.
The possibilities are endless!
All You Need is Some Ribbon!
I cut strips of ribbon 12 inches long and used them to add a bit of flair to this white hydrangea 3 hole sugar mold. So simple!

Other Seasonal Decorating Ideas for A Sugar Mold
This idea was one I used for Summer but it would also work for Spring! I am not sure this one should even count since it was so easy to do. What is really neat about this one is how I made the “flower” out of an old pillow case!

For the next idea, I propped a sign on top of the white sugar mold and used it as a backdrop for a garden of “planted” tulips.

A Few More Ideas for Everyday
The sugar mold can be used in your office to hold pens, pencils, scissors, etc. Makeup brushes could be stored in a sugar mold in your bathroom. In the kitchen, you could use the sugar mold to hold silverware or utensils.

You got me Kim, another decorative item I adore, but do not have! I love the single sugar mold, and the darker mold which is not something I navigate towards, but I love them! The stand is perfect, and the Christmas greens in the single mold is perfect! You have an eye my friend for the details, I love that about you!
