Hello! I’m Kimberly and I’m so glad you’re here! On my blog, I share the adventures of moving to Florida and beginning again in a new space as a herbalist, a creative, and a serial entrepreneur. I am a copywriter and ghost writer for blogs and brands with over 25+ years of entrepreneurship experience. In my personal life, I am a wife, a daughter, a bonus Mom and grandmother, a gardener and a collector.
My business is a result of my love of scented geraniums and chocolate desserts. I first discovered scented geraniums when I lived in a house build in 1904 in Cincinnati, OH. They spoke to my soul. I started growing them in my garden and slowly added herbs and other perennials to my flower beds.
I started blending teas and selling them along with other herbal items at craft shows. I opened an herb shop on my parents’ property in rural Central Illinois in the mid 1990s. The property was the perfect place to hold special events and classes.
I earned a bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Economics from the University of Illinois and a Master’s Degree in Business from Eastern Illinois University. I was in 4-H for 10 years.
Owning a flower shop/antique store in a small rural Illinois community for over thirteen years was a learning experience . In 2015, I went from flowers to flour when I became the owner of a pizzeria that I named Makin’ Pizza.
In mid 2019, I hung up my pizza peel and “retired’ to Florida. I decided to start this blog as a way to channel my creativity and hopefully inspire people in some small way . I would love to share the knowledge that I have gained as an entrepreneur as well as my passion for creating beautiful environments.
