I’d love to share how to use chalk spray paint on wood candle holders for a quick refresh! It is so quick & easy!
I had purchased this set of candleholders online. I was looking for something for our outdoor dining table and thought these would be perfect. While there is nothing wrong with them the way they are, I decided a quick spray with Chalked Spray paint would make them work better with the other elements I planned to use.
Before
I just happened to have a can of Chalked Spray Paint by Rust-Oleum left from a previous project.
I love this Linen White color. It works well for so many different things that I like to paint: wooden end tables, patio furniture, home decor items. Chalked Spray Paint comes in a variety of colors so you can choose a color that works with your decor.
I always keep a can or two on hand of the Linen White!
After shaking the can really well, I stepped outside with my candleholders and began to spray. The picture below is after the first coat.
I let the candleholders dry between coats. I ended up spraying them three times.
Once the candleholders were completely dry, I took them out to our lanai and staged them. I have used them on the dining table and also on the credenza.
For Summer
I love how the wooden beads around the candleholders coordinate with the round shape in the middle of the small spindles.
For Fall
Instead of candles, I added a moss ball and a greenery ball accented with white berries to the candleholders. I had a leftover piece of rustic looking ribbon and a tallow berry sprig. A celadon colored resin pumpkin completes the display.
For Spring
I did two options for Spring. The first option has a little ceramic lamb that once held a flower arrangement. My Mom received it as a gift when I was born. For more ideas about how to display the little lamb and other pieces of vintage pottery, please see this post: How to Display Vintage Pottery
For the second option, I replaced the lamb with a small bundle of lily of the valley. I included the vintage metal flower frog in both options.
Shhhhh don’t tell anyone but that greenery ball is actually a vintage mistletoe kissing ball from the 1960s that was in my Mom’s collection when I sorted through everything! I think it works quite well as an accent for the candleholder, don’t you?
In the background of both of the Spring photos you can see my favorite galvanized hog feeder! You can find out where I found this hog feeder by checking out this post: Even More Flags, Flowers & Finials

Another Way to use Your Candle Holders
In this display, I used the candle holders on each end of a display to extend the length of a centerpiece.
